LESSONS

Individual lessons are tailored to each student's age, experience and musical goals. I teach violin, viola and cello, with lessons available for children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to advanced players.

     Lessons are personalised to suit the student's age, experience and goals.

     Complete beginners are very welcome.

    Lessons can include instrumental technique, repertoire, sight-reading, aural skills and musicianship.

     Exam preparation is available for students who wish to work towards recognised qualifications.

     Advanced tuition is available for auditions, performances and further musical study.

      Adult learners and students returning to an instrument are very welcome.

Music Lesson Cancellation Policy

Each lesson time is reserved specifically for the pupil. As I am usually unable to fill a cancelled space at short notice, the following policy applies.

Cancelling or changing a lesson

      Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change a lesson.

      With 48 hours’ notice, I will try to offer an alternative lesson time where my timetable allows. Rearranged lessons are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

      If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the full lesson fee will still be payable.

      If a pupil does not attend a lesson and no notice is given, the full lesson fee will be payable.

     Lessons missed because of holidays during school term time, school events, exams, transport difficulties, or missed appointments are payable in full.

Illness and emergencies

       I understand that pupils may occasionally become unwell or that unexpected emergencies can arise.

      Please let me know as soon as possible if your child is ill and cannot attend.

      Where notice is given before the lesson begins, I will try to offer an alternative time where my timetable allows. This cannot be guaranteed.

       Genuine emergencies will be considered sympathetically.

      Repeated short-notice cancellations may mean that I am unable to offer replacement lessons.

If I need to cancel

       If I need to cancel a lesson, I will to offer an alternative time where my timetable allows.

      If an alternative cannot be agreed, no fee will be charged for that lesson.

Payment

      Lesson fees are payable after each lesson, unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance.

      A cancelled or missed lesson that falls within the 48-hour notice period remains payable at the normal lesson rate.

      Please make payment promptly after each lesson, including any lesson charged due to late cancellation or non-attendance.

Thank you for respecting my teaching time and for giving as much notice as possible when a lesson needs to change.
